Tourism Atlantic provided a presentation to the Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism Board by Tourism Atlantic on their new strategy. Open dialogue has been established between the Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism Board and Tourism Atlantic and goals and objectives of Vision closely aligned with Tourism Atlantic’s Strategy.

Building a Vision 2020 Community Website 11 Mar 2010

The Tourism Board is working hard to develop the Uncommon Potential Website as the primary communication tool to communicate Vision 2020, engage stakeholders, and increase the effectiveness of coordination between all tiers of government and industry. The website goes live during the HNL Tourism Lookout! Summit in Gander on February 20th, 2010.

Tourism Board members attend National Tourism Leaders Summit 11 Mar 2010

Following up on a recommendation outlined in the Vision’s goals for building leadership capacity in the tourism industry, support was provided by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Recreation to send two tourism leaders from the Tourism Board for leadership learning and development. John Dicks and Danny Huxter were chosen to participate in the Tourism Industry Association of Canada’s (TIAC) Tourism Leadership Summit in Fredericton. The annual TIAC summit offers delegates an opportunity to hear guest speakers, attend plenary sessions and workshops and network with national leaders in the tourism industry.
